Attestation
Sign and verify entries with drawn or uploaded signatures.
What is Attestation?
Attestation allows authorized users to digitally sign entries, confirming they have reviewed and verified the data. This is separate from the approval workflow — attestation is a signature-based verification, not a multi-step approve/reject chain, and it happens after an entry is already considered final rather than gating whether it becomes final.
A signature drawn or uploaded here is stored the same way as the one saved under My Signature in the profile menu — the underlying image format doesn't differ by feature, so a signature captured for one purpose looks identical wherever else it's later displayed (attestation record, approval history).
Enabling Attestation
- Go to SmartTable Settings → General Settings
- Toggle Enable Attestation on
- Select authorized users in Users who can Attest
- Save settings
Attesting an Entry
- Find an entry with the gray checkmark (✓ outline) icon — this means it's ready to be attested
- Click the icon to open the attestation modal
- Choose a method:
- Draw Signature — Use your mouse or finger (touch) to draw on the canvas
- Upload Image — Upload a signature image file
- Click Submit
Attestation Status

| ✓ (outline, gray) | Entry is eligible for attestation — click to attest |
| ✓ (filled, green) | Entry has been attested. Hover to see who attested it. |
| No icon | Either attestation is disabled for this smarttable, or the entry is not yet eligible |
Removing Attestation
System Admins and users with user management access can remove attestation:
- Click the green filled checkmark icon on an attested entry
- Confirm the unattest action
- The entry returns to the "ready to attest" state
